An innovative mode to perform inspections remotely has been introduced in cooperation with third party inspectors (NoBo).

In particular the activity, coordinated by Project Quality in KT, was relevant to a hydraulic test of the convection modules. At the inspection participated also RINA, the Notified Body involved in the certification process. The hydraulic test will be made of two phases: a first step in a Spain workshop and the second in a Turkey workshop, both carried out remotely.

A very complex activity performed jointly with NoBo by remote instructions, to carry out coils visual check, pressure gauges settings, dimension deviations, test performance. The test started at 9.30 AM to 2.30 PM at fabrication shop, involving convective modules of two Furnaces with test pressure 92.8 bar (inferior) / 96.8 bar (superior) / 128.6 (intermediate); this test, once completed also the radiant modules tests, will be valid for releasing the entire supply to the relevant Construction site.

This added value activity has been possible thanks to the technologies used by supplier, but, above all, thanks to the Accreditation Body Accredia that, on a regulatory point of view, has allowed this kind of activity to be performed remotely.

Damiano D’Alessandro, Group HSE, Project Quality & Risk Management Head of Department participated in the inspection and shared that this milestone, the hydraulic test of convection modules with the involvement of a Third Party Inspection applied according to PED Directive, shows first of all our resilience that has allowed us to face the great difficulty of the moment, especially to minimize travel and protect the health and safety of our personnel, transforming a potential criticality into an opportunity. It is confirmed that we have been able not only to overcame a contingent issue but we even have started a model to be used in a 'normal' future that would allow us to apply a new modality to release the pressure equipments according to European Directive.
